The National Mermaid Championships will commence this Saturday, July 31 and will take place for a full week at Cooleen, Foynes, Co. Limerick.
Entries are expected to exceed 40 Mermaids (boats of a classic 1950's design) from all corners of Ireland and will race daily for seven days on the majestic waters of the Shannon Estuary to the picturesque and historic port village of Foynes.
The competition brings with it a festival atmosphere, as over 150 sailors with their families and friends settle in for a week packed with competitive and social activities by day and by night. All visitors are welcome!

The third and last installment of the TRI 3 Series comes to Kilrush this Setpember. This first part of the triathlon is 750 metres long swim. The 20-kilometre bike section is set in the rolling countryside and the five kilometre run has the best of both worlds; the first 2.5 kilometres quiet countryside before pounding the streets of Kilrush. The cycle a triathlon will finish in the Square. There will be a great atmosphere and the usual high energy street entertainment that the TRI 3 Series has become famous for.
