Golden Vale Drive

The varied landscapes on the Golden Vale drive (Distance: 112km) range from the level pasture lands to the north, from which the Golden Vale derives its name, to the foot of the highest inland mountain, Galtymore (3015 ft) by Griston bog, over the undulating picturesque countryside on the southern side of the drive through the medieval town of Kilmallock, and around Lough Gur, famous for its many archaeological sites.

Estuary Drive

The scenic drive along the N69 takes you from Limerick City to North Kerry following the southern coastline of the Shannon Estuary, a magnificent stretch of tidal water. Here you'll find delightful towns and villages and world famous shore fishing sites. Relive the pioneering days of transatlantic aviation in the Flying Boat Museum in Foynes, home of the Irish Coffee.

One of Clare's most scenic drives takes you around Loop Head Peninsula, the county's most southwesterly point. The cliff girdled peninsula with the Atlantic on one side and the Shannon Estuary on the other is one of Ireland's best kept secrets.

Clare's Atlantic Coastline Drive

A north to south route along Clare's Atlantic coastline is a memorable journey. Travel south along the spectacular road that hugs the coastline around Black Head and watch the Atlantic rollers break on the beach in Fanore.
