For sailing enthusiasts, Lough Derg provides some of the best inland sailing waters that you can imagine.With its uncluttered expanses of water stretching to 13,000 hectares (32,000 acres) and good sailing breezes, the lake offers ideal conditions to set sail. At its widest point, between Scarriff and Dromineer, it is 13 miles wide and is ideal for sailing with a predominant south westerly breeze.

The largest lake on the mighty River Shannon is ideally placed close to the great Atlantic Ocean with its steady winds and offers a wide range of opportunities and services to make your sailing experience a memorable one.

Feel the adrenalin rise, the fresh breeze in your hair and the sun in your face as you hoist the sails and take to the waters.
